I really did want to love this foundation. I have been using Makeup Forever HD for the longest time, and it is a pretty pricey foundation.
I went to Target and picked this up for ten bucks, and I was shocked and how minimal the color selection was.
Once I tried this out, I absolutely LOVED it in the first few weeks. I used it a lot over the summer, after I find out how much unnecessary shimmer goes into this product. You look like a glitter ball, and it does not blend well. I really think the hype is a bit silly, considering this is one of the worst foundations I have ever tried. It clings onto every dry patch, and with its SPF I don't see how you can possibly take a decent looking picture.
This was not the foundation for me. It made my skin look oily, which is surprising cause I have dry skin. It was also so shimmery and made pores, (wrinkles if you are old), and every unwanted imperfections stand out.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS!
My "everyday" foundation
I love this foundation, I wear MAC and Laura Mercier but I use this the most. I love the airbrush matte finish I get. I would definitely recommend this for an "on the go" foundation, it's light weight and flawless with medium to full coverage.
Why didn't I try this sooner?!
At first I was iffy about trying this foundation as honestly I read more bad reviews than good but I must honestly say I fell in love with this foundation. I'm 004 Nude and its a perfect color match for me(I am NW20/MAC). Makes my face look flawless after applied and its very long lasting for me. The coverage is buildable and I love the dewy finish that it has. I read a lot of reviews of people complaining about the shimmer but to me it wasnt noticeable and anything shimmery honestly does not bother me. I love the pump, makes using the product less messy and you can control how much product you want. Also foundation is blendable and geez just amazing!!!
I got this foundation for 10 dollars at my local drugstore and I will definetly go back to repurchase when I'm out.
Wonderful product.. Def would repurchase
Once Revlon Photo Ready foundation was released, I kept reading a lot of mixed reviews. A majority of the reviews I read were okay to bad. As time went on, I read how people were beginning to like it after re-trying it. I finally picked it up for myself and I must say... I LOVE IT. I don't know why I didn't try this product any sooner.
A lot of people are comparing it to MUFE's HD foundation because this one states "photo ready". This foundation claims to give full coverage but I found it to give a medium coverage. It's not heavy on your skin and is not cakey on the skin at all. I feel like it gives my skin air to breath while maintaining a healthy dewy glow.
There were many complaints as far as color selection. I found my perfect shade at Wal-mart just for $11. The packaging is awesome. It has a pump,.. a controlable pump I must add.
Yes, there is shimmer--NOT GLITTER, but a hint of shimmer in this product but its not noticeable. I feel if someone was super close to your face then they will notice it. You wont look like a disco ball wearing this foundation. This does contain SPF 20, but somehow it photographs well. I havent had had any issue as far as flash photography.
I absolutely love this foundation!! Stay tuned for my video review coming soon - http://www.youtube.com/BeautyBurst1
Good coverages, leaves skin with an almost flawless finish
I have read a lot of good thinks about this foundation and decided to give it a try myself. This foundation collection contains 13 shades and can be found in most drugstores for $11-$14. This fountains contains SPF 22 and is oil-free. I always look for foundations with SPF because I think it's important to protect your skin on your face. I love the pump, and it delivers just the right amount of product.
Normally, I use Revlon Colorstay because it doesn't melt as easily as other foundations. Now that its cooling down to the 70s (pathetic I know), I don't really have to worry as much. When I first purchased this foundation I accidently purchased the wrong shade. Instead of getting Natural Beige I grabbed Medium Beige which was much too dark for me. One thing I really like about this collection was the variety of colors and tones. I have a more yellow toned skin tone and it can hard to find foundations that don't have pink undertones. Although Medium Beige was much too dark, it would work well for those with olive undertones. Nude ending up being more my color, especially now in the winter months. I tried mixing the two, but it was still a little too dark so I ended up giving it to my mom :)
This foundation delivers good coverage and works very well in evening out in my complexion. But, I'm not sure how well it would work covering up a lot of redness or blemishes. It is not as thick as Colorstay foundation and has a much lighter, thinner consistency. The finish is not matte but more of a dewey finish. This foundation gives you the appearance of a "glow" and I really like the flawless finish type look it delivers. It does not slide off my face like some, but i never wear a foundation alone and I always use some sort of finishing powder.
The Revlon Photoready Powder provides more of a matte finish and therefore eliminates shine. It comes in 4 shades, translucent, fair/light, light/medium, and medium/deep. The tinted powders help with coverage, and these also contain SPF 14. These powder compacts can be found in most drugstores for $9-$10. The most disappointing aspect of this powder is the amount of fall out. The powder gets everywhere! One sweep of the brush over the compact and it loosens up too much powder, causing a lot of powder to go to waste. The brush that comes with the compact doesn't work well and I ended up throwing it out. I do like the convenience of a compact, but I hate when they break, and I feel like they always break. Revlon should consider making their Photoready Powders in a loose powder formula as well. But this powder works well in eliminating shine and setting my makeup for the rest of the day.
Now, for the sparkles. I have read a lot of people complaining about the shimmer. Revlon describes the shimmer to be "Photochromatic pigments bend, refect and diffuse light to help erase flaws." But to be honest, the shimmer doesn't bother me at all and I barely notice it. If you look closely in the picture of the powder below, you can definitely see the sparkles. But once, the powder is buffed in to the skin, I can't really tell.
Normally, I am against shimmer in any face powder and I do not like shimmery bronzers. But, the amount of shimmer is minute in my opinion, and serves it's purpose.
Overall, this is one of my favorite line of face make-up and rivals many more expensive lines. Now I know what all the rave is about!

I would definitely purchase this again :)
**I’ve been using this foundation since Feb. ‘10**
Another one of my favorite foundations :) It is very comparable to the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation. The Revlon PhotoReady has Great/Medium Coverage. Though on the bottle it says “Complete Coverage,” I still think that it gives you that Natural look, that look that doesn’t look “fake.” You can still see the texture of your faces which is good, but yes! It has great coverage that evens/smooths out your face/complexion. (I don’t need to use concealer with this foundation! Awesome right!?) *For it being a “Medium Coverage,” it is totally build-able for it’s totally Lightweight! It is also Fragrance-free, and Oil-free.
Revlon PhotoReady also gives you a dewy finish, which I love! Oh, and it’s a silky formula too, so it doesn’t go on really cakey! It also doesn’t dry right away, which is good so it’s gives you all the time you need to apply it w/o having to hurry/worry about it drying right away. :) One thing I don’t like about this is there is NOT enough color variety. I believe that there is only 12 to choose from? (But I do say, it’s not that big of a deal because it is really blend-able.)
As for the packaging, I definitely LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! It’s totally sleek, the bottle is the same size (pretty close) to the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation, BUT this one has a PUMP which is a TOTAL, total PLUS!!! The pump is great too for it is easily controllable! Great job Revlon on the pump!
Oh, I almost forgot… Yes, Revlon PhotoReady does have a little bit of shimmer. (It’s not “glitters”!!! loll) It’s just a little bit of shimmer, totally not even that noticeable. See pictures below or above.. if you zoom in *click em* you can see the small shimmers.

Too shimmery!
This is a complete miss for me. It's way too shimmery. Emphasizes my pores. Coverage is light to medium. The lightest shade (001 Ivory) is a bit too dark. I do like the bottle with the pump.
My honest oppinion...
I have extremely fair skin, so all my flaws stick out like sore thumbs. In my case I will normally either wear a foundation OR concealer but never both. I bought this foundation because Im a photographer and thought that it sounded cool and heard some good reviews online. To be honest the coverage is no where near as good as I expected. And also, it stinks for oily skin. When I need a tinted moisturizer I use this. Fail revlon!
