Blue Mosaic from the Expressionists Line
Revlon's Blue Mosaic nail enamel is a part of their new Expressionists line which is inspired by Gucci Westman. The Expressionists collection is only available this fall. There are four nail polish shades. Everyone seems to be buzzing about Flecks of Fuchsia, but I went for Blue Mosaic, since I'm not much of a purple girl. I purchased my bottle at Rite Aid for 79 cents. I had a $4 off Wellness Points coupon. Great steal y/n?
First let me say that I love all of Revlon's packaging. It's so classy, but also functional. I specifically love their nail enamel bottles. The shape is so classic. Round, sturdy glass, tapering up to the black plastic cap that never seems to detach from the top of the brush. I also love the inclusion of a gold band at the bottom of the cap with the classic Revlon logo. The brush is also a classic. Long and thin with a good amount of stiffness. It takes three strokes to cover my nails.
Blue Mosaic contains mostly small sky blue glitters, with a sprinkling of larger, heptagonal (seven-sided) blue and silver glitter, all suspended in a clear base, which makes it more of a layering polish. Despite being a layering polish, it can be worn opaque if you're patient enough to apply four to six coats. The small blue glitters are very evenly dispersed in the clear base, with the larger, sequin-like ones being more random.
I really like the effect Blue Mosaic gives to the polish its layered over. It gives a pretty shine and adds a lot of dimension without being too flashy. As far as glitter polish goes, Blue Mosaic is quite classy. It's not gaudy, with giant chunks of glitter, nor is it overly shiny. The variety of glitter adds a lot of subtle visual interest to the nail. Its a great polish for layering over blacks, navies, and yellows, especially for evenings.
Dry time is a little less than a minute per coat, say about 50 seconds. Not bad for a polish that doesn't claim fast dry. (this polish isn't part of Revlon's SpeedDry line).
I can't speak much for the wear time of this polish, since it seems greatly affected by the polish it's layered over.
Removal is easy for a glitter polish, but still pretty difficult. I prefer to soak my fingers in polish remover, or press on a cotton ball for a minute or so instead of scrubbing at it. I don't like nail damage.
You should definitely grab Blue Mosaic if you can still find it on your drug store's shelves. I got the last one at my Rite Aid. You'll definitely use a lot of it during the holiday season and at the $4.75(ish) price tag, it's well worth it. I'm considering going back to Rite Aid to see if I can find the very popular Flecks of Fuchsia, to see what all the fuss is about. If its anything like its counterpart Blue Mosaic, the praise is well deserved.
I am absolutely in love with Revlon nail polishes! They are my favorite drug store nail polishes along with Sinful Colors. I first bought Pink Chiffon and fell in love with it. Wore it for weeks and weeks and finally bought more, including Minted and loved them all. Definitely recommend, especially since, at least at Ride Aid and CVS, there are always sales on them.
I love Revlon nail polishes. They're so affordable and they come in so many gorgeous colors. I have eight of them but right now my favorite is Copper Penny! I definitely recommend it-- it goes opaque after only one coat!
Revlon definitely has one of the better nail polishes at the cheaper end of the spectrum. There's a fairly wide variety of colors, and I generally get decent wear out of them. I do, however, avoid the deeper purples as they tend to be far sheerer than I would like. But for 4 bucks or less, I can't really complain.

Black Envy - The Perfect Fall & Winter Color!
I was given this my one of my wonderful friends. The Revlon Black with Envy is such a gorgeous color! It's a deep shimmery charcoal grey. I love it! It's a perfect shade for the fall and the winter! The formula was a teeny bit watery. But not to the point where I am annoyed because I do have other Revlon polishes and they are very runny. Totally annoying ! For me, it took only 2 coats to be even and opaque. After the 1st coat, it was streaky and uneven but the second coat fixed that right up! =) The brush is nice and didn't find it stiff. There is a smell, but smells just like any other nail polish. I don't know about drying time because I use a fast dry top coat. I would recommend you check this color out if they still have it available!
I LOVE nail polish! I saw a sale at CVS and decided to branch out from China Glaze, Sinful Colors, and OPI and try a pale purple and a mint shade of revlon nail polish. Unfortunately, I wasn't thrilled. Revlon doesn't cover evenly, by the time you dip the brush again the polish on the nail is a different texture and each swipe makes it streaky. Additionally, I didn't think the wear was that great. I used OPI base coat and finished with OPI chip-skip but I still felt that there were many cracks and chips before there should have been. Overall, the shades are appealing but the quality is....leaving something to be desired.
The best choice for the price!
I compare this nail polish, Revlon vs. Chanel. I found the Carbonite color from Revlon, which its very similar to the famous and chic Graphite from Chanel! And the best part? Its cost like $4.99 vs. $2five.00!! The color looks chic and eleagant! A must to try durin this fall!!
great for layering!
I layered this with wet n wild's party of five nail polish and it's gorgeous! Love all Revlon polishes! Black lingerie is a deep black polish. When you apply, you have to use a little bit at a time, or it will smudge/run. With the smudging/running, I still love the color. This polish is just as good or even better than some of the higher priced nail polishes. If you haven't tried this polish yet, you need to :)
One of my top favorites. It lasts a really long time without chipping, especially if I've added a top coat. They've got a great variety of colors. It mixes well with other brands if I want to layer colors.
