I bought into the hype for these butters and wasn't as amazed as I thought I'd be. The colors are nice and glide on smoothly and you can build up the intensity of the the shade. However some shades have huge flecks of glitter in them which you cant tell before you try it. I hate glitter on my lips - it reminds me of lip glosses I used to wear as a pre-teen. These butters also do not last long at all. An hour TOPS. Reapplying is not a pain since it's like chapstick, but it stinks anyway! They're good for a low maintenance kinda girl

Great Pigment; Not Buttery

This product was a let-down for me. The pigment is great and has long wear, but the "butter" aspect of it is lackluster. It is incredibly smooth on application - like melted butter - but doesn't take long to dry up on your lips. I would advise applying lip balm beforehand and keeping some around to refresh your lips throughout the day.

I don't get the hype

It's a nice colour and it certainly feels moisturizing as it's applied, but ugh, it's just so patchy! Totally highlights every piece of dry skin, something I'd expect out of a matte lipstick and not one that claims to be hydrating.

love it!

The only shade I have so far is raspberry pie, but since the day I bought it its become one of my favourite lip products. For me it lasts a good while, and doesn't dry out my lips at all which is one of the most important things for me. The only objection I have is the price, $20-something Australian dollars seems a bit unreasonable, and would definitely make a dent in your bank account should you want to build a collection of the shades :/

I have to say that I'm one of the people that truly does not understand the hype behind these lip butters. That being said, I do own three of them in Sweet Tart, Peach Parfait, and Tutti Frutti. Or, I did own three of them. I recently threw away the one that I had in Peach Parfait, because it broke just as I was reaching the end of the product itself. I'm really disappointed in these products, Peach Parfait especially, because I think that the colors are beautiful and they feel great on the lips. However, they fade after only about twenty minutes of wear and will cling to any dry patches on your lips. I've found that Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti also leave a telltale ring around the edges of the lips while the rest of the product has faded. I think that these products are great for makeup beginners or anyone who just wants a quick pop of color that feels comfortable on the lips, but I will not be repurchasing anymore. They require far too much maintenance and reapplication during the day - I would rather be focusing on other things during the day than if my lipstick has faded for the 400th time. I would much rather stick to regular lipstick, and only have to reapply once or twice throughout the day.

I really like lip butters as a whole, but Cupcake was a total miss. It's a gorgeous blue-based pink color, a perfect dupe for MAC's LE Viva Glam Gaga if you missed it. However, it bunches up, peels, and fades after 2 hours. Not flattering and not impressive.

It's true that these are moisturizing. I had no problems with this drying out my lips or making them feel uncomfortable during wear. The packaging is cute and these have a mild vanilla scent. However, the patchy wear is so unflattering (even if you do find a way to make it look even, moving your lips at all will ruin it). I love lip butters, but this one is a hassle to use.

I'm addicted... if only they could last longer

I have fallen in love with these since Day 1. Now I have Raspberry Pie, Peach Parfait, Red Velvet, Fig Jam, Sugar Plum, Cherry Tart, Strawberry Shortcake, Creme Brulee, and Pink Truffle.
I use Fig Jam, Peach Parfait, Pink Truffle, and Sugar Plum the most. They're all very natural-looking and compliment my skin tone. My only complaint is that Peach Parfait has way too much glitter.
Creme Brulee is a great nude color. When I mix it with Revlon's lipsick in Soft Nude, it creates the PERFECT nude shade for my lips/skin tone.
I don't really use Raspberry Pie because it's a very loud magenta. It's a beautiful shade, but I just don't like the color and how bright it is. It also creates a bit of a stain. I also don't use Strawberry Shortcake because it's a baby pink, a color I'm not too keen on either.
Typically these last for an hour or two without eating/drinking/etc. If I eat or drink though, they come right off. This is a huge shame because these lip butters have so little product. (Currently I'm almost out of Fig Jam).
Overall these are great as tinted lip balms moreso than lipsticks. The shade selection is amazing and I love most of the ones I own. They do not last that long, and have little product, so I hope they don't discontinue anytime soon. They are worth the hype, but I wish they were just a little cheaper (I would say they're worth about $6 instead of $7-$8).

Need them all...

Hi, my name is Nicki. I'm a hoarder. That being said, I have these in: Cupcake, Cremecicle, Tutti Frutti, Gumdrop, Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait, Candy Apple, Creme Brule, Raspberry Pie, Lollipop, Red Velvet and Sweet Tart. Yeah, only 12. I picked one up (Strawberry Shortcake) after the hype started. I fell in love. It's a great consistency, it's really moisturizing. They don't last forever, but it doesn't claim to be long wearing. There's a wide range of shades so it'll work for everyone.
Just try it. If they're on sale, they can be close to $5. Totally affordable.

I have this in Fig Jam and I absolutely love it! The pigmentation is exactly what I was hoping for - definitely noticeable but not too bold. It's easy to apply without a mirror but if you're like me and you like to rub your lips together to work the balm in after applying, you might want to check a mirror to make sure you didn't get it everywhere. A dark color like Fig Jam stands out quite a bit on the skin around your lips and it can look pretty messy.

These balms are also very moisturizing and they feel very soft on your lips. The product isn't waxy at all and it lasts several hours before you feel like you need to reapply it. It has a very subtle vanilla scent and doesn't really taste like anything, which is a big plus for me.

I really love the color of Fig Jam because it adds a nice warm, brownish-red tint to your lips. It's a nice darker, richer alternative to a nude, but it still looks fairly natural because the color isn't too thick. I'm definitely going to try some other colors, too!

My only complaint is about the packaging. The "base" is very small and doesn't give you much to hold on to when removing the cap or applying the balm. This is just a minor annoyance for me, but if you have difficulty holding small objects (like if you have arthritis) you could have a hard time with this product.

AMAZING!

These are so so so worth the hype I own four colours, cupcake, macaroon, creme brulee and tutti fruitti and I love them all. Cupcake is a cool toned pink, Macaroon is a dark red with golden and fuschia undertones (confusing I know) and its warm toned, Creme brulee is a golden warm toned nude and tutti fruitti is a red, coral, orange-y colour, they are all sheer and moisturizing but can be built up to have amazing colour pay off the packaging is super cute and the shade range is great and suits every ones prefrences pretty much and cupcake is a dupe for MAC angel! These are so worth the £7.99 price tag and the hefty hype, the live up to there name of lip butters as they are really soft sort of like butter, they have a scent but not at all overpowering and its a pleasant smell, they are like the middle ground between lipstick, lip balm and lip gloss! Perfect and my favorite lip product!
