i have medium dark skin and i got this on plum wine and wooow i didnt think it was so pigmented. the texture is so smooth and it goes on bright and pretty. i was kinda iffy about them because of the reviews on color pay off but maybe they reformulated them :3 i love the color and how it feels so light
It's a decent blush and a fun product--it really is 'bouncy' and fluffy feeling and really entertaining. leaves a nice, sweet glowing color on the cheeks. I apply with fingers, smoothing it out with circular motions--it takes more work to apply than a cream or powder but I didn't find it particularly difficult. after you get over the novelty of the texture, though, there isn't much else to recommend over other blushes. it's very fun, but I probably wouldn't repurchase.
I've seen ppl apply the blush directly to the face, in circular motions, with the thumb, with fingers... but for me, the best application is dipping a blush brush into the product and building the color onto your skin. As to quality, it has high pigment and looks great on skin (ppl with fair skin should DEF try this out, but I don't think black women should). This used to be my holy grail blush as it gives a very natural look but idk what happened, i just dont like it as much anymore.
Great blush for fair skin
If you have fair skin, use should use these blushes. They are so natural and glide on your skin like butter! I use the shade "Rose Petal" for my everyday natural makeup look. It is a really pretty pink with a coral tint to it. I don't like streaky/super pigmented blushes so this product is perfect.
Average product, Nifty idea though.
The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush is in a small circular plastic packaging, with the shade listed on the back with ingredients and the shade number, the front having the products name and brand on the lid. I have two out of the ten shades in the line, Hot Tamale, 70 and Pink Frosting, 10. I will be reviewing Pink Frosting, but I will briefly describe Hot Tamale. Hot Tamale looks like a deep coral-pink, Verging on a light magenta pink. The texture is great for application with fingers, Which is my preferred method for products like this, But I have attempted application with a stipple brush which brought poor results. The product lasts for about 4 hours before looking faded. It goes on as a sheer pinky coral color.
Pink Frosting is an average light pink, Perfect for all skin tones, But it, like Hot Tamale, applied sheer, and is a smooth application with fingers. Stippling it or buffing it on with a stipple brush brought little to no color, So I apply it with my fingers, Which is the recommended way of application from information from the website. It deserves an average 4-star rating, Since it does as it claims, But it can seem a bit unsanitary with application using your fingers. It did blend well and evenly though.
DISCLAIMER: I bought both products with my own money, and I was not given this product for free for the purpose of reviewing, Nor were either products given as gifts at any time. All opinions are my own.
Hard to Apply
I picked this up at the local drugstore and i was hoping it would be great! I'm a big fan of Maybelline because their products don't break me out or don't break the bank. I was super unhappy with this product. I got home and tried it out and it felt thick and heavy on skin. It didn't blend well and it was hard to remove. Overall Maybelline let me down this time.
Pink Plum is a cool, medium toned pink. A big gripe people have with this line of blush is that they're "not pigmented." These *are* designed to be sheer. I noticed that, on my palest of skintones, it can go on extremely faint, but it can be built up to be a little overpowering. I like that it gives off a sweet, fresh-faced look. It doesn't give all day wear, it looks a bit faded by 5 hours.
not worth your money
I was so excited for it and I thought it was going to be my favorite but after trying multiple times it was a dissapointment :( .. its not pigmented . Its creamy but hard to apply .. you have a hard time even getting producton your fingers and it dosent go well on a brush .. dosent stay on at all .. also the product dosent show up well .. I. definitely dont recommend it
