Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
And the winner is...
I got NW43 after I took NW48 back. The NW48 was off by a country mile. I could tell in the dark that it was all wrong. I feel that the SAs that work for MAC don't listen nor see well. I went back and they swatch this one and NW45. NW 45 was too orange. I settled for the NW43. This powder seen to absorb into the skin. I can't tell that I am wearing it. This is the powder that I wear almost daily. I have a 5 minute face and I use this powder. I am very oily and it does nothing for the oil. I just have to blot. Overall, I am very satisfied. One thing that I notice is that it neutralizes red. I have areas on my face that are red and wearing this powder makes them invisible.
I love using all Mac products and this powder foundation is just what I need at regular basis here in india hot weather. I put it day time so it gives me a matte soft texture without any oily stuff. its stays on for long time...I really love Mac studio fix it gives me a pro look in one go coz it has both powder and foundation in one place.
This is the only product I will use for foundation. I've been using studio fix NC-45 since high-school. Just recently I got my color rematched and it turns out that NC-43 worked a lot better. I can't imagine changing brands. I love my studio fix!
The downfall of this product is the shade which is waaay too dark and too red for me even before oxidozing. I have no idea why I allowed a MAC girl to con me like that.
I am probably NC50 or NW40 or something else but because the ahades are so confusing and I cant rely on em MAC girls, you wont find me repurchasing any foundations from them, I am cool with their other products where I get recommendation online.
The powder is sadly high coverage, so it would be perfect for days when I am on the go, sigh. I may use it as a light contour powder I guess. But what a waste of my 33KYD.
My Holy Grail!!!
I might have my shade wrong but I've been using this product for many years and can't find anything that really compares to it. I do like NARS Sheer Matte Foundation but it doesn't make me feel as naturally beautiful and flawless like studio fix. It covers my little imperfections and is buildable...so I can wear a little for daytime and more for a night on the town look. I have oily, acne-prone skin but I take care of it very well and this only enhances the look that MAC Studio Fix gives me. I don't see myself switching anytime soon.
I liked this product because when I didn't feel like doing a proper make up face and wanted a more natural look for classes I would only use this. However I felt like as I have combination skin my oily T-zone looked horrible when I used this. So the product is good but if oily or combination be careful.
I literally SWEAR by this product! I am so obsessed with this powder and I spent two months trying to find anything similar to it and of course I ended up going right back to it. This product is so versatile and can be used in so many ways. You can wear it on your bare skin for a more natural look, over tinted moisturizer for another natural look, and you can always wear it over foundation for a night out which will give you a flawless doll-like matte finish! A lot of people complain that it can be heavy but I never apply this with anything else but a large powder brush (real techniques powder brush, to be exact). Applying this with a powder brush can help give you much more control on the heaviness on your skin. If you want more heavy coverage you can apply a lot to the brush and if you want a more natural look you can apply minimally to the brush. Everyone I have recommended this powder to has fallen madly in love with it and has not stopped using it ever since. I believe it can be the perfect powder for anyone but you just need to know how to apply and use it properly. A definite must have in every girls make-up bag! You definitely will not regret this purchase.
