I used to love Mac Paint Pots. My favorites are Groundwork, Rubenesque, and Painterly, but recently I've noticed they aren't working the same.
It's starting to crease, it's starting to feel and look cakey, and the consistency is too thick. I use my fingers to apply the products, and I try to apply it thin and evenly because I don't want it to look cakey.
For some reason, it just keeps creasing and feels entirely too heavy. I'm looking into other primers. I'll still use my prime pot because I love the way it looks as soon as I'm done applying. I just get annoyed because by the end of the day, it's no longer the way I wanted it.
Love paint pots
love the colors, love the consistency, and love the way it works. It keeps my eyelids oil free and my shadow long lasting, and makes the colors super vibrant. I use paint pots in my kit for every client before putting on eye shadow.
HG Eye Primer
Ever since I switched from UD Primer Potion, this has been the best eye primer for me. The color is so natural and can be worn alone for a "bright eye" look. When I used bright colors, they are just as bright on me as they are in the palette. This keeps it on all day and the only way to mess up your eye makeup is by removing it with makeup wipes. I have never experienced any creasing and budging. It is truly amazing!! I feel that this doesn't dry out as fast as UD Primer Potion as well.
LOVE Them. They come in a wide range of colors and they make my eyeshadows pop and they also hinder creasing. They only bad thing is they are a tad bit pricey.
Painterly is my go-to base for almost every single eye-shadow application. The shade is slightly lighter than my natural face coloring, and I've never had issues with it creasing on me during the day. The other plus is I never use that much during application, and almost never waste any, and the packaging is nice (compared to U.D.P.P.'s bottle..) This is one of my every day products.
Usually I'm a big fan of paint pots but this one is easily becoming one of the best challenges in my kit. Application is not as flawless as I would like. It sort of just stays where i first apply it. I've tried using my fingertip and then with a brush to apply, layer and build color and to no avail. I even tried to use my other paint pots underneath to see if i could master Bare Study. Only gave me a headache. I supposed I will try another method and then report back my findings.
Prettiest Cream Shadow
I love the MAC Paint Pots, they come in gorgeous colors, they're really silky and smooth and easy to blend, and they also have fantastic staying power! I find in most situations they are all I need to prevent creasing for up to even 10-12 hours! Bare Study is my absolute favorite color of any cream shadow-its a gorgeous champage color but it also seems to have slight hints of pink or copper that makes it stand aside from other cream shadows! Beautiful!
This is the first Paint pot I ever bought. At first I didn't love it so much, but as I became more involved with makeup, I understood how to use this properly, and I use this everyday as a base. I don't even use a primer like UDPP, because this does the job of holding my eyeshadows all day. Its a good investment because the amount in the container lasts forever and it does an excellent job as a base.
