Sheer but buildable radiance!
I was so, so, so skeptical to purchase this. I have a bad history of break outs and very sensitive skin and from things I have heard MAC seems to break out a lot of people... but I was looking for a sheer foundation with great reviews and this kept coming up.. and I really have always loved MAC but from a distance so I got the courage to get my butt to Macy's and spent the $30 something on what was to become my new summer love <3 And it has, I truly love everything about this, you can wear it super sheer or builds up so easily for more coverage. Its radiant and dewy but not oily, its water based (which I prefer) but stays put and it looks great in photos. What else can I say but i'm in love and getting the courage to go back for more! :)
When I first bout this foundation I thought it was horrible and I returned it. I decided to give it a try again and apply it with a stippling brush and it looked beautiful !! It's very little coverage but I love how it gives my skin a even skin tone. I also use it with Pro long wear concealer and mineralized skin finish powder. You absolutely have to use this foundation with a powder or it won't set and it will appear greasy.
My everyday foundation
I love this foundation. It gives me just the perfect amount of coverage while still looking natural. It is a sheer coverage foundation so be warned. But! It's very build able which is great for when I need a little more coverage (i.e, G.N.O.). It leaves a pretty, dewy glow on my skin which I love too.
The consultant told me it is a little hard to apply with a makeup brush and she recommended that I go at it with clean hands. Perfect advice. As for the separation, give it a shake and you're good to go. Personally, this is my favorite foundation in my kaboodle.
this is a watery mess! offers no coverage what so ever. it expired like 5months after i got it. the pigment and water separate so it was beginning to apply streaky. I love that the bottle is huge but i found myself using more product anyways. very difficult to build this product. i would rather purchase studio fix fluid and dilute it with moisturizer than get this stuff. HATE IT!!!!
My everyday foundation
I use this foundation daily since I can't remember. I love the dewy look and how it lasts ALL day on the skin. And I also love the fact that I can mix this foundation with EVERYTHING! It makes any foundation just better, it gives that "skin look" to some foundations like may look a little powdery on its own.
It's a staple in my kit and I couldn't live without it.
Mac face and body foundation is a very light and sheer foundation. It does not look like foundation at all when you apply it, it looks like your skin with a little glow to it. It does leave a sticky feeling after you apply the product but once you set it the sticky feeling will go away. Within an hour or two I do start to get oily and will have to blot throughout the day but other than that the foundation last all day on me and is pretty good.
I do have normal to combination skin. I am usually oily in my T-zone. My color is C7. It does come in a 4oz bottle for $32.50.
I recently purchased the smaller bottle of this foundation and I don't know if the formula is different or what but the one that I recently purchased from the new collection does not leave that tacky feeling behind and I have not been getting oily. I have had to blot once a day if that. This has become my new favorite liquid foundation. The smaller version is in a 1.7 bottle and the cost is $27.00. The smaller bottle I am thinking will last me for a year or more because I have been using it for a little over 2 weeks and I have not put a dent in it yet. I have set this foundation with setting powder and I have use this foundation without setting it and either way I was please with the overall outcome with the foundation. I would recommend this foundation to those who do not have a lot of skin problems because the foundation is a sheer foundation. I sometimes apply this foundation with the E.L.F. powder brush however I love applying it with my fingers for a better coverage.
Hate, Hate, HATE!!!!!!
The hatred I feel for this product borders on comical levels. I honestly feel that this has a undeserved hype from the makeup community because in my opinion this is just watered down, coloured water sold to the unsuspecting public.
The only thing this is good for is as an expensive paper weight
BUY BUY BUY!
Can a foundation get any better? Its so light weight so it feels fresh on your face and you don't feel like your face is caked in make up. Its light coverage is great for this summer season because you get a very natural fresh faced look with this foundation. Match this with MAC pro longwear concealer and you can get a medium coverage for the ares you aren't too confident with without having your whole face covered.
When i first brought this product I admit I wasn't too sure. As I was used to thick foundations, however having dry skin i thought I would give this a go and i'm glad I did because it really works well for my dry skin. I don't get any flakiness and it doesnt look obvious I'm even wearing foundation.
This product is so versatile. I even use it as a fake tan by getting a darker tone, it goes on so much easier allowing yo to blend much more and you end up with flawless, airbrushed tanned skin! i can't stress enough what a great buy this really is!
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEE!!!!
MUST HAVE FOR MAKEUP ARTISTS AND MAKEUP LOVERS!
The number one question I am asked by new makeup artist is:
" What foundations should I add to my freelancing kit?!"
With tones of products on the market we sometimes get caught up in price, hype, and packaging. If you are shopping for your own personal makeup kit then sure, go ahead and get whatever works for you and looks pretty (shucks I do for my personal kit ). However, when it comes to your freelance makeup kit these points should not matter. You want foundations that can be used on all skin tones, skin types, and look great in video and pictures. This is why I choose MAC Face & Body. It is a light weight water based face and body foundation made for all skin types and comes in 13 shades. Face & Body comes infused with tons of emollients which will moisturize your skin (great for clients with mature or dehydrated skin). It has a light natural finish which is great for clients who don't like heavy foundations. For times that I am looking for more of a heavier coverage I add a little concealer to it on the back of my hand or on my mixing pallet (this is a good tip for wedding and photography/video makeup). I love using this foundation in my daily makeup routine because it looks so natural (I only have Face & Body on in my picture above).
Just because there are 13 shades of Face & Body does not mean that you need all 13. A good rule of thumb is to buy every other color. For example in my kit I have C1, C3, C6, N2, N5, N9, these are sufficient for my kit since I always mix 2 shades to obtain the right one.
If your still unsure try Face & Body along with some other brands your curious about. Stores like Sephora are great because they give you product samples that you can try yourself and on your clients for feedback. Hope this helps :)
