Skip the falsies!

Being the Benefit buff that I am, I had to try this out despite that I had another Benefit cult favorite mascara (Yay for BadGal!) I wanted to see the two side by side to see the differences. They're Real has a plastic wand which is obvious when looking at the photo. I like plastic wands the most because it creates more of a fullness with my lashes. Anyways, while BadGal creates a nice, subtle voluminous lash look, They're Real creates this sexy, night on the town look, which I love!

Didn't last long enough! Pricey!

This was my favorite mascara for a pretty long time until it started running out. I just can't bring myself to spend $22 on a mascara! When i used this it was the ONLY mascara i used. Now i layer 3 mascaras so I guess it's worth it. May be repurchasing.

The best mascara I have used yet!!!

I love this product! It does everything it says it does. I apply it once and it lasts all day long without the need to retouch it. I don't even wear false lashes anymore like I used too.

Not my favorite, but good enough.

My favorite mascaras shift between the "Bad Gal" mascara from Benefit and the "Full Exposure" from Smashbow (they have the same brush, go figure lol). When I tried this, I had such HIGH expectations that I let myself down. I feel that if I gave it a real shot, I would have adored it; however, I feel that there are always other options for mascara.

PRODUCT REVIEW:
Pros:
-Nice length & volume
-Holds a decent curl
-Long-wear
-No flaking!

Cons:
-Hard to remove

Consistency:
-The formula is not entirely wet, nor dry, so I find it incredibly easy to work with; yet, when on my lashes, I feel that they become so crusty feeling (I prefer natural feeling lashes).

Hype (Is it worth it?):
-Maybe. Depends on what you're looking for, honestly.

Nice but a little bit too strong

This is probably the most controversial mascara in recent times, from what I’ve read around you either love it or hate it. I am not that extreme, i don’t ‘love’ it but I like it a lot, it does everything it says in the bottle (or the cardboard in this case). With just one layer, it gives you long straight eyelashes and it separates, extends and lifts them immediately. Besides it’s a real black, a real jet black so it highlights the eyelashes perfectly. With a couple of layers and a bit of work is my perfect mascara to wear with black eyeliner and red lips.
Removing it is a bit complicated, you almost need an industrial paint stripper for that, it is true that it stays on all day and doesn’t leave you with those annoying blackish particles around the eyes, but in order to achieve that they had to make this a little bit too strong mascara because even using different eye makeup removers for waterproof mascaras it takes a lot of effort and rubbing, my eyes end with a bit of irritation and the next day when I wake up I still have some remains of it over my eyelids. With that in mind, i wouldn’t recommend it for a daily use , although the effects are really attractive (and addictive, it really looks nice on) but unfortunately I do not think that the health of my eyes would allow that. But i do not deprive myself of wearing it once or twice a week.

They're Real Mascara....

Wow! Love it! I bought a travel size just to try it out and wow! it really does make my lashes look longer, blacker and volumized. it lasted all day as well, without flaking or smudging.

holy LASHES!

this mascara is TO DIE FOR. it really defines every lash, giving you the false lash look without all the hassle of messy glue and worrying if they're going to fall off. i work for sephora, so i did get this product for free but i've been using this mascara for about a month now and it's easily my new favorite! :)

Makes my lashes longer!

I do like this mascara! But, since my lashes are very straight..I need a mascara that is a dryer formula--like the waterproof mascaras. So after I apply the "They're Real" mascara, I have to use my eye lash curler to keep the curl. I usually like to curl first before applying mascara but it wont work well with this one!

Great Mascara

I'm very skeptical about mascaras over 10 dollars and found anywhere besides the drugstore. This mascara though, is worth the price. The brush is great, I love plastic brushes. Plus, the spike ball at the end is fabulous at getting the lashes in the inner corner. The formulation of the mascara is great and while some people have had complaints of clumpyness I beg to differ. It separates my lashes and lengthens fabulously!

good but not amazing

I must say, I like this mascara a lot. I got it (or possibly a mini version of it?) at sephora as a 100 point bonus goodie thing and I was excited to try it. I do like it a lot. However, I definitely prefer the benefit badgal lash mascara, which is one of my all time favorite mascaras if not my favorite. If I was going to buy a benefit mascara it would be that one, but I do like this one. If I have it on hand and I don't have any of my absolute favorites around I'd probably use this above most drugstore mascaras or other mascaras I've tried over the years.
