Achieve a natural, flawless skin glow in seconds
I bought this with some skepticism; I have quite oily skin, so I do not like the aid of primers especially ones that contain silicon. That Gal is very quick and simple to put on with the click tube applicator; you can get just the right amount to dab on cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. A little goes a long way! I use my Make-Up Forever Concealer and finish off with a brush of Benefit's Hello Flawless Powder.
I was quite surprised to see how bright my skin was, best of the primer doesn't feel heavy or thick.
The first thing that I noticed about this little primer was the sweet smell. It was a bit reminiscent of a strawberry sorbet smell. I applied a small amount to my face and I noticed an instant brightness to my face. It also gave it a soft glow. I was automatically impressed with it and loved how my face was looking that I almost did not put any foundation on afterwards. It did not feel heavy or thick on my face. When I did put my foundation on it went on smooth and evenly. The packaging is also super cute and easy to use!
This Guy Loves That Gal! ♥♥
First of all this packaging is so cute, and so unique. Turns the bottom dial to make the product come up... I'll admit at first I was turning it the wrong way for like five minutes, wondering where the product was. Then I turned it the other way and tadaaaa......
But I LOVE this product. Light as air, it blends in like a dream, and adds a nice glow and a smooth surface to your skin. Plus it smells like Rockets candies! You can't lose!
Brightening primer for a subtle healthy glow :)
I know a lot of people don't like this product because it makes them too pink. That's not a problem for me because I have yellow (almost olive) undertones and the pinkish tint in Benefit's That Gal really works to counter the sallow tones of my skin.
I find that I can use this with or without makeup on top. Some days I can just use this and powder and I'm good to go. It doesn't give me an oily look because there are no overt "shimmers" that most other brightening primers have.
I can't vouch for the "primer" part of this product because I'm not really oily in the first place. Still, it's a nice addition to my beauty arsenal, for days when I just need a little boost to look more radiant and fresh :)
Here's a way of using it that YOU WILL LOVE
After reading Benefit's claims on this product, I assumed that it was an all-over face primer comparable to ones from Smashbox, NYX, etc. I feel as if Benefit should re-evaluate their labelling of this product, because I don't think it's a great face primer, but I found an AMAZING use for it!
I use this product as you would with Benefit's High Beam. I put it on the high parts of my cheeks, and wow it makes a beautiful difference to my foundation routine! If you are someone who thinks that High Beam is too bold for an everyday wear, try applying "That Gal" as a cheek highlighter, and tell me what you think!
"That Gal" is also great paired with Physician's Formula Happy Booster in Translucent over top, for they both carry a pink hue to their finish.
Overall, I dislike "That Gal" for a face primer. But I'm loving it as a highlighter!
Suggestion: If you girlies are looking for a great, lower-cost ACTUAL face primer, try NYX Pore Filler. It smoothes the surface of your face, blends your foundation amazingly, and keeps your liquid AND powders stay on all day.
I hope I helped!

It's Ok
Honestly, this isn't an awful product. It sort of moisturizes, sort of brightens, but it doesn't really do much else. As a primer, it kind of sucks. It doesn't make my skin feel any more even and doesn't do anything in terms of staying power. All in all, not worth the money.
Meh.
I don't really dig this primer. I have extremely dry skin with some red and flaky patches and sensitivity and the 2 good things I can say about this primer are a) it smells good and b) the packaging was clever and functional (I have the full sized product that cranks up and the product is distributed through little holes at the top).
I've used it layered over moisturizer and it doesn't lock in moisture at all or help to smooth down my face, just sits on top of the rough patches and flakes with my foundation/concealer as far as I can tell. I also unfortunately didn't notice a brightening effect that the packaging promised, which would have bumped this up a star because other than the scattered rough spots, my skin is pretty clear and I don't need something to make my foundation last like people with oily skin might.
Overall, I might have bought this primer for the wrong reasons (to help aid in making a smooth base for my foundation/concealer) but unless I misunderstood the women at Ulta and the product description, this just doesn't do its job for me. I can't say whether or not it's effective in making product stay put, because I don't have a problem with that anyway, so this primer may be worth trying for people with normal/oily/combination skin. However, I will definitely be returning this and putting my $29 (!) toward something more effective.
Ehh..
I got this product as a sample and used it all the way up before making my decision about it. I feel like this primer doesn't really do anything for me. It doesn't make my makeup last longer, or go on smoother. I don't see any 'brightening' effects to my face either. I will say it does smell pleasant.
I mix it with moisturizer
I usually mix this with my moisturizer when I don't want to wear makeup. Or, I'll put it on over my moisturizer with a little dusting of powder.
I have used it as a primer but I don't really like it as one. I don't think it smooths out my skin enough to hold makeup as long as I'd like.
Ok I dont always wear a liquid foundation usually just concealer in certain spots or mineral powder. So I can not comment on how it holds that type of foundation Not only do I love the smell but I definetly notice it adds more oomph to my face. But I think for powder it holds it and doesnt make it splotchy ofcourse let it dry before applying anything else. Its soft, a pretty pink color too. I have the sample size btw
