Beauty Product Reviews

Great highlither, not suitable for anything else

As other people said before me, I don't think this would be a good moisturizer nor eye cream, that's why I'm not giving it 5 stars - because it doesn't do all it claims. Anyway, as a highlighter I really like this. You can also mix with your foundation or moisturizer to achieve a dewey look, but be careful! Just a tiny little bit is enough!

Long black lashes!

This is my favorite mascara, I just keep buying it. I have really short and straight lashes and this mascara, paired with an eyelash curler, just gives me perfect results. It really gives a LOT of lenght and is black, very black. I love that doll look like. Oh, and it never smudges!!! For removing it, just push gently the lashes with warm water and it will all come off in pieces, almost like these tube technology mascaras. Really my favorite mascara and absolutely recommended!

Natural finish

This foundation has surprised me. At first I thought it couldn't be that good, but it turned out to be the only foundation I actually like to use on a daily basis. Whenever I'm feeling like not going out without some foundation, I instantly go for this. It is a liquid foundation with a medium coverage, so it gives what you need to even out your skin without making you look like you're wearing anything. Of course you can put more layers, but I find it to be very efficient for what I look for. I have oily skin and live in a warm area, so yes, my skin gets oily even with this on, but it's not like crazy and I can control it with blotting papers and a powder like MAC's Blot. The best foundation I've used so far for controlling oil was Mary Kay medium coverage, but this does not give you such a natural finish for using during normal weekdays as this one. (But I love it as well!) Anyway, I would say this is a very good foundation, but I'm still gonna try other ones.

Great for taking with you

This is great if you have some other MK products, like blushes, eyeshadows, bronzer, illuminator, powder. You simply put on whatever you have and as it is magnetic, it stays perfectly in this compact. It's great because you can customize the way you like and change whenever you feel like you have to. I always have a blusher and three more neutral eyeshadows, plus lipstick (most of other brands lipsticks also fit it). The brushes are not outstanding because, well, they're these ones made for fitting in a compact, but still are enough to allow you to do your make up.

Happy with it

I was at a MAC store trying to find me a concealer and as I was wearing no make up at all, the SA gave me this to even out my skin and I was just amazed, because I had never tried powder foundations thinking they would be too cakey. This one is not. It feels very smooth and it doesn't give you that powdery finish. It also stays fairly well and is a good option to use as a setting powder if you, like me, likes to wear a more sheer liquid foundation and just cover up a little bit more with a powder. I don't use this on a daily basis, so I can't say much about break outs, but as far as I know, this went very well on my skin and didn't cause me any problems. Absolutely recommended.

First gel liner

As this is the first gel liner, and up until now the only one I ever bought, I can't compare it to any other brands, but all I have to say is that this is really good. I come from using liquid liners and the only one I actually liked was the L'oreal Super Liner in Carbon Black, which I still think is the one which lasts longer. The thing is gel liners are much easier to apply and you get a defined thin line (or thicker, of course, if you use different brushes). Anyway, the thing is you can actually manipulate the product in such an easy way and with the MAC one really lasts long!

Long lasting perfect curl

I guess the title says it all. This was the first eyelash curler I bought and was pretty satisfied with it. I mean, not knowing the results of other curlers, I thought this one was good because it did what an eyelash curler was supposed to do. I only realized how good this one is when I went buying other cheaper brands and... Well, let's say the amount of money you pay is exactly how much it curls. Due to difficulties of finding Shu Uemura where I live, when they're available they are really expensive, something like 50 US dollars, so for that price I'm not willing to purchase it again and might try other ones with good reviews, like the Tweezerman one.

Good, but...

...it smudges. And that's bad. Maybe it's just me, though, because I see a lot of people writing great reviews about it. I have oily (combination when the weather is dry, like during winter) and my lids also get oily, I always have to use a primer for eyeshadows. Besides, I wear glasses, big ones. So I don't know, maybe this combination caused it to smudge. Anyway, I don't think the results are that different from the Volume Express, so if I'm gonna stick with Maybelline mascaras, I'd rather save myself a couple of bucks and buy the waterproof version of the Volume Express.

You get what you pay for

This line has a very wide range of nice and bold colors and the price is unbelievable, but you'll find that some shades are hard to apply and they don't last that long because of how creamy this is. Besides, just one thing that usually doesn't annoys me if it's a good product, but the smell is also weird. I barely use the ones I have and do not intend to purchase them again.

Ruby Woo

The most beautiful and easy to use red lipstick ever! It's matte, but it has some brightness in it, a little bit like a shimmer, but not wet. It's a really dry lipstick, so some people apply a lip balm first. I think it compromises it's durability, which is absolutely amazing. Most recomendable lipstick!
