Thank you! My hair was platinum for about 2 years and is pretty destroyed. Although I did take care of it, almost exactly what you described. :( I got it cut to my jaw line in January and it has barely grown at all :( so I now have fusion keratin bonded hair extensions and that was an even worse idea. :( ugh! How long is your hair without extensions?

I totally feel your pain! my hair was destroyed when I was younger because I kept switching between platinum and red from 12 to 18 (the hardest things to switch back and forth between)... I have different a different stylist now and their technique seems to be different... My hair never grew past shoulder length until I decided to go for browns and blacks. I did get fusion extensions when I was 18 and decided to go a more natural route for good. I totally thought it would be fine for my hair and I'd just take them out with healthy hair that was naturally longer... totally destroyed my hair! I wear clip in extensions now and I totally wish I knew more about them when I got the keratin fusion extensions back then.
I am in the process of growing out chin length hair that was cut (from halfway down my back) almost 2 years ago. I kept getting my hair trimmed to get rid of the dead ends or I would get it cut to better blend with my extensions... now I'm trying to grow out of the extensions so I quit getting trims and shaping my hairstyle to fit the extensions. My bangs and the front of my hair are so many different lengths! The bangs on one side of my part that is shorter and reaches the bottom of my nose or shorter... the other half of my bangs on the other side of the part is past my chin. The front of my hair on one side is like 3 inches shorter than the other side-big mess! But the front of my hair (that's not growing out bangs) is around shoulder length give or take an inch or two. The back of my hair is actually pretty long and reaches past my shoulders! I guess I rarely needed that area of my hair to be blended into my extensions when I got it cut lol

Hey Remy! My hair could probably be in better condition, but it isn't too bad for the amount of bleaching and heat tools I use on it. Though I do a lot of coloring and toning on my own, I only trust a professional to do my bleaching. He uses professional products (I think from the Tigi Catwalk professional line): 20 volume bleach instead of 40 volume bleach (which has completely ruined my hair in the past). Using professional products at with less strength, it seems to keep my hair in pretty good condition. I also try to shampoo my hair two-three times per week, if my hair needs some extra moisture, I'll condition on the other days, otherwise I just keep my hair in a shower cap when I bathe on a non-shampoo day. Also, when my hair is wet, I try not to brush it-if I do brush my wet hair I only use a wide tooth comb on it then leave it along until it is 100% dry. After I shower, I also like to use "It's A 10" Leave-in Conditioner and/or Argan Oil when my hair is wet. I do use deep conditioning treatments as often as possible... The nights before I shampoo my hair, I try to sleep with either coconut oil or a deep conditioning treatment (I like Hask's Henna n' Placenta Deep Conditioner packets). I wear extensions every day so I have to use heat to blend them (straightener and/or curling irons), so I try to let my hair air dry or blow dry it on a cold setting... and I often forget, but I try to use heat protectants too. That's pretty much it! Let me know if you have any other questions =)
