Lerina A.'s (lerinamelissa) Beauty Product Reviews

PROS

- long wearing
- moisturizing

CONS

- skin becomes shiny very quickly
- dries quickly
- poor shade selection

COMMENTS

This is a good foundation to wear during the winter months as it offers no shine control and has a very dewy finish. The formula isn't dry at all, but rather a bit sticky upon application. However, this does stay put all day despite the oily appearance I will have.

Selected shades: cotton pink (bubble gum pink), merino mauve (pale nude pink), pink cashmere (medium pink), pink plush (sheer pale pink), pink vinyl (bright, barbie pink), sunset angora (peach-toned coral)

Pros

- moisturizing
- buildable pigmentation
- lightweight

Cons

- poor staying power

Comments: These feel like silk. Compared to Revlon's Lip Butters, these are much thinner in consistency with a lot more slip. The finish is that of a gloss, offering a ton of shine. I find these to be rather sheer, but the pigmentation is buildable with a couple of swipes. My must-have shade is Pink Vinyl - gorgeously pigmented barbie pink. Pink Plush is my least favorite due to being incredibly sheer and too pale of a pink (looks white against my skin).

Selected shades: cotton candy (medium pink), cupcake (pale, blue-based pink), strawberry shortcake (bubble gum pink), sweet tart (hot pink), tutti frutti (orange)

Pros

- pigmented
- creamy
- nice color selection

Cons

- not very moisturizing
- not a lot of product

Comments: I love these, even though they aren't as moisturizing as they're suppose to be. They have a very thick, creamy consistency with great color payoff. I love pairing these with Super Lustrous glosses because it enhances the moisturizing capabilities and really increases the staying power.

Pros:

long-lasting
controls oil
looks natural
has a pump

Cons:

dries quickly
coverage not buildable (will look cakey)
hard to blend
price
settles into pores
clings to dry spots

Comments: Great foundation for oily skin, however this will have a very dewy finish after a couple of hours (which I wouldn't mind if this worked well during the winter time). The oil control will last me for several hours, but I will look very shiny before touch-ups are needed. It offers sheer to medium coverage with a very thick consistency, making it difficult to blend (even when using a primer). This will stay put, though - no fading or transferring and has a very natural finish. I won't be repurchasing this due to the fact that it makes pores look worse and it makes me look oily after a short amount of wear time.

SHADES: pink grapefruit (peachy coral), strawberry parfait (baby pink)

PROS

- pigmented
- not sticky
- nice scent

CONS

- poor staying power
- strawberry parfait is drying

COMMENTS

These are good for the price. They don't last long, but you can't expect much from a gloss in terms of longevity. Pink Grapefruit has a very slippery texture, while Strawberry Parfait isn't very glossy and can feel drying. I do like the shades, though and don't mind reapplying as needed.

SHADE: this too shall glass (baby pink)

PROS

- moisturizing
- long-wearing

CONS

- sheer
- sticky

COMMENTS

I found this to be pretty moisturizing. The consistency is rather thick and sticky, but it does stay on well. The finish makes my lips appear fuller, but it is sheer if you just swipe it on. I find that if you dab it on, then you can achieve more pigmentation. It's also a great gloss to pair with any lipstick.

SHADE: rose hip (bright fuchsia)

PROS

- pigmented
- creamy
- long-wearing

CONS

- smells

COMMENTS

Beautiful shade - incredibly bright and fun to wear. It has a very creamy texture, so it applies well and stays on. I just really dislike the way it smells, but it's not enough to keep me from repurchasing.

SHADE: pink punch (bubble gum pink)

PROS

- pigmented
- SPF
- add shine

CONS

- not moisturizing
- poor staying power

COMMENTS

I wasn't expecting this to be very moisturizing, so I do wear this like a lipstick. Pink Punch is pretty pigmented and gives the perfect shade of pink, but works even better paired with a gloss on top. Doing this will add moisture and longevity to it, so as long as I do that it's a win for me.

SHADE: innocent (pale baby pink)

PROS

- pigmented
- not sticky
- long-wearing

CONS

- drying

COMMENTS

They offer a very great dupe for NARS Turkish Delight. Innocent (titled "pink" on the website) is the perfect baby pink - it's quite pigmented almost like a liquid lipstick. The texture is a bit drying, though. It doesn't feel like a regular gloss. You can achieve opaque coverage with this stuff, though and I love it.

SHADES: dollface (baby pink), flutter (bright pink)

PROS

- pigmented
- long-wearing
- silky texture

CONS

- only three shades available
- powdery

COMMENTS

Love these. The texture is incredibly smooth, so they apply very well. They're very pigmented, so you don't need much and stay put all day. They are quite powdery, though - so be careful with dipping your brush into it. I also wish they had more shades available.
