Beauty Product Reviews

I was truly disappointed. :(

I really wanted this to work. I really did. Judging by how many in each variety were left at the store, Cherry Me was one of the more popular ones, so that's what I got. The smell is great, there's a nice sheer wash of color when I use it, BUT it lasts about an hour on me - at best - and leaves the dry part of my lips even more dry. The not-so-dry parts of my lips are moisturized, true, but the uneven performance of this left me disappointed. I hate to throw a product out, but I just might have to this time.

Great for keeping red hair red!

Being a not-so-natural red-head for years, I've got a "cocktail" of products to keep my color lasting longer. This conditioner has been part of the process for a long time. In fact, it's got a such strong color-depositing quality that I mix it with my regular non-color-depositing conditioner, which is great for stretching out a bottle. I leave the mixture on my hair anywhere from 2-5 minutes and it keeps my red tresses looking redder longer. (Note that if you don't rinse it off your hands right after application, it can stain your finger nails.) It's got that earthy sort of smell that other Aveda products tend to have. I'm indifferent about its scent, although it doesn't seem to linger once my hair is dry. I highly recommend this product!

Smelly and not effective

I got a travel size of this to try out, without having to commit to a full size can, and I'm so glad I did.

Firstly, this is smelly. I can't really describe what I'm smelling, but it's pretty offensive, and I tend to be forgiving. This smell doesn't go away once it's dry and I can still smell it at the end of the day.

Secondly, it did sort of make my fine hair's roots look *slightly* less oily, but I expected more from this label. I've used Big Sexy Hair's Dry Shampoo with more success. The Oscar Blandi one is clear and did boost my volume some.

Overall, though, I will not be buying this product again, nor will I be recommending it to others.

So great for calming my dry skin!

I'm a SoCal girl and the water here is notoriously hard. It takes a lot of the natural oils out of my scalp and skin. Not so fun for me, since I have very dry skin to begin with!

A friend of mine got one of these and raved about it. The skin on her arm was incredibly soft and she didn't need lotion to achieve that. So at tax return time, I invested in one and I, too, am in love!

My skin no longer feels itchy when I get out of the shower. My scalp doesn't feel stripped. I can't speak to the color preserving issue, since I dye it red and red is always such a misbehaving color anyway, but the filtered water is much kinder to my fine hair.

A fun feature about this shower head is that you can choose the stream setting to your liking. It's a little touch that I think makes the shower feel a little more special.

A word of warning, though, when you first hook up the filter and do the suggested flush of water to activate the filter: it will come out black-ish and gross looking, so heed the instructions when it says you should catch that first surge of water in a bucket. Once the water runs clear, you're good to go! I can't recommend this product enough!!!
