Beauty Product Reviews

Perfect.

I'm really sad they discontinued selling this product at Sephora. To me, the foundation is the perfect consistency I am looking for in every day coverage: Ideally, I like something that looks natural, not too cakey, but still gives the impression that I'm wearing makeup, and this IS IT. The brush that comes with it is okay for touch-ups or on-the-go application, but I really prefer and recommend using a sponge for application to avoid streaks. You really don't need much to get good coverage. I really wish that they put more makeup in there or that the compact was bigger. When I was using this foundation on a consistent basis, I would find myself having to buy a new one every four weeks. The price isn't bad ($35), but I've spent that much on quality foundation that has lasted me longer. I also felt it was a huge waste of such a pretty case that uses so much plastic! They should just sell re-fills.

THE brush

I LOVE this brush! This is my favorite brush to use every single time I apply eyeshadow. I love that its vegan, I love that I can wash it easily, and I love that it has been able to last me for a long time and still retain its shape. I have become a pro at using this brush, and use it as an all-in-one brush (blending, contouring, lining, etc.) you really don't need another eyeshadow brush if you have this one!

Overrated.

I hate to say it, but I feel this product is really overrated! I've actually been using this product for years, and have kept my loyalty through all the new shades they've introduced. I don't use Primer Potion anymore because I realized that it doesn't even do the one thing it's supposed to do--keep my eye makeup from creasing!! Really, the only benefit I found in this product is it allowed me to glide my eyeshadow on easier...not really worth it if it will just look sloppy in a few hours. Also, I really wish they had kept the old bottle design. This new tube shape makes application frustrating...especially when you get to the end.

Not impressive.

Because I have fire-truck red hair which is a hard color to maintain when washing, I bought TreSemme's dry shampoo because a.) it was on sale and b.) it's TreSemme -- a brand I know and trust. Sad to say, I am pretty disappointed. This spray leaves white residue in my roots (NOT CUTE) and doesn't really soak any oil or add any volume like the bottle says. Actually, my hair looks okay for maybe the first hour after application and makes my hair style-able, but by the end of the day it doesn't do much.
