Hey emily! I saw your post on that "think dirty app" and I commented with an article concerning the parabens published in 2004 - which I think you may already be aware of that article - but another article published in 2012 (here: DOI: 10.1002/jat.2753) went a step further in investigating whether or not parabens could transform normal healthy cells into cancerous cells (basically testing if they are carcinogenic) so if you want to read up more about it - feel free to check out these articles and let me know your thoughts - I would love to hear them =]

Okay so I've always thought you were really young for some reason but now I've actually read your profile and checked out your pictures and I feel like an idiot lol. Also your sfx makeup skills are awesome!

Raylene I.

Hey love!! How are you feeling?? I hope the doctors have finally been able to give you some answers!! I'm also going through some medical problems with my hips, femur and now apparently my tibias 😞 it took me two years to get into my orthopaedic surgeon and then I had to go in for a repeat MRI that was twice as long as my first one. And when I saw him for my results he was soo concerned and confused that he brought in two different surgeons and considered sending me straight to the children's hospital to see head of orthopaedics of Alberta 😞 so I had to have a CT scan done which really messed up my tummy for a few days and I go in for my results next month. Soo much traveling as I live 5 hours away from the city this is all taking place. So, although my problems not as serious as yours ((sooo sorry!!)) I know what it feels like to have a problem with no answers. And being in constant pain. I'm on oxy-neo 30 and 20 mg and three T4s a day and it still doesn't help. I wish I could offer more help. Even just to bring you cookies! Haha anyway I really hope things are looking up for you and your able to spend some cuddle time with your special guy. My email is on my profile if you ever want to connect and have a melt down or just to talk. I know too mch about medical melt downs!! Anyway hope this message finds you at a happy moment!!

FAQ

Is that you in your profile picture? Did you do that makeup?
- Yes, that is me! I did that zombie makeup for a costume contest. I have more detailed pictures of various SFX looks on both myself and my fiance in my photos.

You're a writer? What do you write?
- I enjoy writing fiction and fan-fiction.

Fan-Fiction? What are your fandoms?!
- Peter Pan (novel and 2003 film), Phantom of the Opera (both novel and musical), and Harry Potter (books). I don't necessarily stick to plot canon, but I very rarely create original characters in fan-fiction.

You sing? What do you sing?
- Technically I can sing anything from a contralto to a soprano, but my tessitura is mezzo-soprano. I can also belt (Broadway, not bel canto). I am able to sing a little opera, but I'm not formally trained. My favorite things to sing are Cher, Elton John and Tim Rice's "AIDA", and Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" and "Love Never Dies."

Where do you get your information/are you a scientist?
- I do consider myself a scientist. My academic background was physical anthropology (concentration in archaeology), which included fundamentals of scientific research, osteology and human pathology, lithic analysis, art history, psychology, chemistry (both organic and inorganic), and I was minoring in food science (which covers chemistry of everything ingestible, as well as ingredients that are added to both food as well as many other consumer products such as dyes, preservatives, flavoring, amino acids, etc.).

Due to health issues that caused me to change career paths, I graduated with a BSB instead; but I retain access to academic resources such as textbooks, journals, databases, and lectures. I frequently reference these resources in my posts on Beautylish.
