Beauty Product Reviews

I love this stuff - it makes my skin feel like butter. The only thing is that it takes a while to settle in. I find I have to apply it right after my shower & watch tv for 5-10 minutes before getting dressed, otherwise it just feels too sticky.

Great packaging & range

I love the Shu blushes. They're easy to blend, and have great colour payoff. There's also a good range of colours. But the thing that I love the most is that you can pick 4 or 8, and put them in a custom palette. Makes it great for traveling - most of my travel shots have a Shu Uemura blush.

Good, everyday primer

I wouldn't say this is my HG primer - I think for a HG it would need sunscreen - but for everyday, I think this is a pretty spot-on formula. I wear it underneath Estee Lauder Double Wear, and at work it helps my foundation last the day, without looking to greaseball or overly dry by the end of the day.

Greek Holiday - the perfect shimmery nude

This Nars shade is an HG for me - it's perfect in summer if you want your lips to go a bit paler, but still retain lovely sheen. It sparkles in the sunlight & is a great nude colour. I wear this one all the time. It's not sticky at all. I love it :)

the ultimate HG mascara

This is the best mascara on the planet. That's a big call I know, but it really is. It lifts, curls, separates, has a great colour payoff, doesn't flake or smudge and - this is the icing on the cake - makes your eyelashes grow. I used this mascara for a year, and in that time my eyelashes grew and became thicker. It's been 3 years now, and I will never use another mascara. It's the best. THE BEST. I can't stress this enough. I'm like a missionary with this stuff.

I typically only use the black one, but I've been known to use Olive Green & Brown as well, for something different. You can barely tell they're not black.

I love this foundation because I find when I don't wear it regularly, that the quality of my skin starts to suffer - it must be the all the yummy nutrients they pack in. It's a good formula, and buildable, but also needs a powder to set (I love the matching wild rose compact powder). One thing I will say though is that it doesn't tend to last the day - if I put it on at 7am, by about 2 or 3pm, it starts to get a bit oily and needs a touch up. But if you have drier skin, I think it would be a 5/5.
