At Cosmoprof North America, we spied some beauty brands from Down Under making their way up into the American market. Australia has always been a source for inspiration (check out Sydney beauty style!), and here's a look at three up-and-coming Aussie hair and makeup companies to keep your eye on.

EVO Hair Products

There's nothing better than a fun beauty line, and Australia's Evo Hair Products attempts to infuse the beauty market with its playful attitude and cheeky copy. Evo realizes that women sometimes take beauty too seriously—product names like "Gluttony Shampoo" and "Root Canal Spray" give us a giggle and lighten the mood. While their whole approach to beauty is no-fuss fun, what really sold us were their environmentally-friendly, no-fuss formulations.

Original & Mineral

Sydney-based color and styling line Original & Mineral challenges the claim that hair color has to be filled with chemicals. After founder Jose Bryce Smith's husband realized he was allergic to ammonia, she began the quest for a clean hair coloring formulation that still performed like a professional line. The result? Ammonia-free Clean Color Technology that reduces chemical dependence and uses natural and mineral actives. O & M (as the line nicknames itself) prides itself on functional and beautiful products, and it's developed quite a cult following among Australian hairdressers.

We love the sexy yet feminine boudoir styling of one of Australia's most popular makeup lines, Gorgeous Cosmetics. Created with the professional makeup artist in mind, this range focuses on gorgeous skin and high pigment—their foundations are the most popular products from the line.
