Rick Owens

PARIS FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

With a collection of black and white and the occasional burnt orange thrown in for good measure, it was the bright orange lips that stood out at Rick Owens. Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni described the look as, "art deco goddess."

Makeup

To create the very bare face, Lucia started by blending MAC Face & Body Foundation and MAC Cream Colour Base in Luna together to softly lighten skin. She then used MAC Pro Invisible Set Powder, which was lightly applied to the skin to set it. MAC Pro Porcelain Set Powder was used to create a paler, inner “mask” on the face by creating a halo effect.

Lashes were curled and MAC Eye Shadow in Gesso was blended over eyelids and diffused lightly around eyes to amplify the pale eye effect. Lucia also swept the same shadow through brows to lighten them, making the face one big, pale mask. MAC Pro NC15/NW20 Chromagraphic Pencil was applied throughout the waterline to open eyes. Lip Conditioner SPF 15 was applied first to hydrate and prepare lips before MAC Pro Lipmix in Red, Orange, and White was lightly patted onto lips to achieve a matte-stained finish.
