Jason Wu

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

A fresh and edgy spring palette pairs with vintage silhouettes in Jason Wu's spring 2012 collection at New York Fashion Week. Beautifully feminine shapes pair with tough accents of leather, feathers, and bright lips, juxtaposing Jason's classic and graphic aesthetic.

MAKEUP

Makeup artist Diane Kendal first perfected the skin with MAC Studio Finish Concealer, the applied MAC Blot Powder over the center of the face for a polished effect. She then dusted MAC Iridescent Powder in Silver Dusk above cheekbones, over the bridge of the nose, and in the inner corners of the lower lashes. Diane blended MAC Powder Blush in Cubic over the lower apples of the cheeks with a MAC 129 Brush.

For the eyes, Diane applied MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack on the upper lash line with a MAC 210 brush, flicked the line outward slightly at the outer corners. She gave the eyelids a soft sheen with MAC Pro Gloss Texture.

Diane contoured and defined models' lips with MAC Lip Pencil in Redd, then applied MAC Lipstick in Scarlet Ibis (available spring/summer 2012) over the entire lip. She patted MAC Pigment in Pro Acid Orange for a matte finish.

HAIR

Legendary hair stylist Odile Gilbert created a textured Stepford-meets-punk-rock hair design to offset the gauzy shapes of the collection. First, Odile sealed any damaged or split ends with Kérastase Lotion Densitive and Kérastase Fibre Architecte (out late October). Odile added Kérastase Mousse Volumeactive for volume and texture, then began to twist and interwearve the hair with black feathers. Each model's hair was secured with bobby pins and finished with Kérastase Double Force Hair Spray

NAILS

OPI continues New York Fashion Week using one of the season’s most popular accent colors—red! Models at Jason Wu wore OPI MonSooner or Later on fingernails, a bright orangey-red hue. Toes were kept neutral with the classic OPI Samoan Sand.
