NEW YORK FASHION WEEK S/S 2012

Donna Karan's DKNY spring 2012 collection was made for the metropolitan girl. Ultra-chic sports- and swim-wear in patriotic red and blue mixed with saturated pink hues and patterns.

MAKEUP

"The beauty look at DKNY is inspired by a California girl in New York," said Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer. "Fresh, sun-kissed and glowing."

Charlotte prepped skin with a light layer of Maybelline Fit Me! Foundation. She mixed Maybelline Fit Me! Bronzer in Light Bronze on the temples and Maybelline Fit Me! Blush in Deep Rose on the apples of the cheeks for a sun-kissed, "California Girl" glow. Charlotte applied the lightest shade from the Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explostion Luminizing Eyeshadow in Caffeine Rush to the inner corners of the eyes. She applied the beige shade all over the lids and up to the brow bone. She coated the lashes with Maybelline Volum' Express One-by-One Mascara and groomed the brows with Maybelline Define-A-Brow Eyebrow Pencil. Charlotte dabbed on Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipcolor in Glisten Up Pink with her fingertip, and finished the lips with a layer of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Quenched.

NAILS

"The spring DKNY collection is full of very vibrant prints and patterns, so we decided that a bold, yet nude nail was the perfect compliment," said Essie Weingarten, founder and creative director of Essie cosmetics. "I really love this look- it is classic Essie. Nude, without being too sheer; sophisticated with an edge and totally universal on long and short nails."

To get this perfect nude manicure, first prep nails with Essie All in One Base, and follow with two coats of Essie Nail Polish in Brooch the Subject, allowing two minutes of drying time between each coat. Finish with Essie Good to Go Top Coat
