A new skincare line by Bare Escentuals

Beyond just swirling, tapping, and buffing makeup, Bare Escentuals has released their new bareMinerals Skincare line this month. The new skincare line has a mix of cleansers, moisturizers, and skin treatments packed with rareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex--which is supposed to boost cell turnover and nourish your skin. Say bye bye to wrinkles and fine lines and hello youthful skin with topical treatments? Perhaps.

Not your typical exfoliator, the bareMinerals Skincare Exfoliating Treatment Cleanser comes in a powder form. The snap-top bottle is easy to use but be careful, don't shake the bottle before opening or else you'll get a poof of powder spilling all over you. My first initial reaction to the powder was that it felt like a lightly scented Comet on my fingertips, but I can't quite pinpoint what exactly it smelled like. I followed the directions and splashed my face and wet my hands first, then poured a small amount of the powder in my palms and emulsified it into a froth. The exfoliator felt smooth on my skin, without any large jagged particles that some scrubs have. I did not notice smaller pores as the box promises but my skin did seem to beam, so overall this was a complete winner for me. Also, since this is in powder form, I can stash this into a plastic bag and take it on the plane without any problems. If you're a fan of Bare Escentuals makeup (who isn't?), give this new skin care line a try, but be warned, the Purely Nourishing Cream and Purely Nourishing Moisturizer have a strong minty-herbal scent. Beautylish verdict? They're great hydrators, but we don't love the smell.
