We love the sheer coverage and hydration of a tinted moisturizer. From drugstore to mid-end, Beautylish tells you which sheer tints are best for summer skin.
A Beautylish favorite, Aveeno's Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is the perfect marriage of coverage, protection, and hydration. Think of it more like a sheer, moisturizing foundation than a tinted lotion. Microscopic, light-reflecting pigments (nothing frosty) give your skin a fresh radiance, and with bonus SPF 30, it's easily an everyday staple.
A long-time low-end favorite, Neutrogena's skin care/makeup hybrid contains a retinol treatment that helps fight against environmental damage. The tinted moisturizer has a airy, mousse-like texture and feels weightless on the skin. Since it does contain retinol (which makes skin more sensitive to UV), we don't recommend heading to the beach with this one.
We were pleasantly surprised after road-testing this relatively unknown sheer tint. The formula dries to a natural-matte finish on the skin, yet still manages to keep your face supple—an interesting combination, but we'll take it! Even in hot weather, this durable, non-greasy formulation lasts.
