It's a perfect day for the beach—the sun is shining and the waves are calling. You've just downloaded La-Roche Posay's new UV App, which tells you the UVA and UVB levels in any location to help you remember to reapply sunscreen. But what to pack in your beach bag? There are always a myriad of products to choose from—here's what you absolutely need.
Sunscreen
A spray on sunscreen is much easier to reapply after a quick dip in the ocean and eliminates the awkward reach around to your back.
For your face, it's always best to use a sunscreen that's specially formulated for facial skin (body sunscreens can be too oily). Keep your sunscreen in the shade (or best yet, in your cooler) to prevent the active ingredients from degrading in the heat.
Beautylish recommends: Neutrogena's Wet Skin Sunblock Spray (for body) and Kiss My Face Face Factor SPF 30 for Face & Neck (for the face).
Makeup Removal Wipes
It's never a good thing to head to the beach with a face full of makeup! Stash makeup removal wipes in your bag to give your skin a quick swipe before reapplying your sunscreen. It will prevent breakouts and keep your face looking fresh.
Beautylish recommends: Clean & Clear Makeup Dissolving Cleansing Wipes
Leave in Conditioner
Instead of carrying a salt-water sea spray (your hair will already have salt water from the ocean), apply a leave in conditioner to give your hair UV protection and prevent color fading. You can also use it to slick your back into a bun or mix the conditioner with water for a wet look style.
Beautylish recommends: Nexxus Dualiste Color Protection & Intense Hydration Leave-in Conditioner
SPF Lip Balm
A regular lip balm just won't cut it out in the full sun. Use a balm with SPF instead of a gloss or lipstick to keep lips protected against harmful UV rays. A balm in a tube is always easier then a tub as it prevents sticky fingers.
Beautylish recommends: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF 15
