Sometimes your hair just needs a little extra love. There are a number of great products you can purchase from the store but why not use ingredients lying that can work just as well? Take a few minutes to give your hair some life again with these three easy DIY hair treatment recipes!
Improve Hair Resilience & Luster
-
1 Egg
-
2 Tablespoons coconut oil
-
2 Tablespoons sesame oil
Whisk the ingredients together, apply the concoction to dry hair, and wrap a hot moist towel around the hair. Let the mixture sit for five to 10 minutes and take off the wrap. Work a pump of shampoo into your hair (without wetting your head) and rinse and condition as usual.
Remove Build-Up From Product Residue
- Room Temperature beer (not the light version)
Wash and rinse your hair with shampoo as normal. Bend over with your head pointing downward and pour the beer over your hair, massaging it into your hair and scalp. Let it sit in your hair for five to 10 minutes, rinse it out, and follow up with your normal conditioner.
Moisturizing Conditioner
-
1 Avocado, peeled
-
1 cup mayonnaise
Mash the avocado flesh and mayonnaise together, apply it to your hair and scalp, and cover your head with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Let the mixture sit on your head for approximately 20 minutes and shampoo and rinse it out of your hair as usual.

Happy to see this, as I just had a LARGE portion of my (normally brown) hair bleached. I am struggling with the "fried" hair issue. My hair is on the short side and it takes me 3hrs just to get all the fried'ness in order. Can't wait to try this!!

I have oily hair so I do not think I could go with the Avocado Mayonnaise but at the same time being a stylist I have damaged my hair pretty badly trying to find a color that I like. So I might. I can tell you that I hate the smell of sesame seed oil I might have a hard time with that one too. But I can tell you that beer has been a trade secret for years. Originally, when Vidal Sassoon was cutting and styling hair he used a mixture of water and beer to give his clients the shiniest blow out of their lives. So here I go beer it is! I would challenge anyone reading this to try at least one of these DIY hair masks.
