Guerlain Rouge Automatique

Beauties, do you remember Rouge G, the super-glamorous (and expensive: $46!) lipstick from Guerlain with the built-in mirror? Well, Guerlain just launched a little sister lipstick to the luxe Rouge G: the Rouge Automatique! With it's sleek gold case and slide-to-open mechanism, this lipstick's gorgeous package is definitely an attention-grabber. Even better is the fact that there's no lipstick cap that you have to hold (and potentially lose in your purse), which means you can open and apply this lipstick with just one hand. And unlike the Rouge G, the Rouge Automatique is extremely lightweight, so if you slip one inside a pocket, it won't weigh down your delicate summer dress.
Beautylish road tested the classic red shade, Rouge d'Enfer and found it to be a true red that goes on exactly like it it looks in the tube (Beauties, have you ever applied what you thought was a red lipstick only to have it turn pink or orange on your lips?). Well, this color is neither too warm or cool, which means it will be flattering for all skin tones. And it goes on creamy, but dries down to a comfortable, slightly matte shade. We applied it straight from the tube without pencil and it stayed put for 10 hours without feathering and just the slightest fadage (even after eating and drinking).
Rouge Automatique comes in 25 shades. For summer, Beautylish recommends Rouge d'Enfer (classic red), Nahema (bright coral, and Shalimar (hot pink). $35 each. Still pricey, but a worth-it beauty splurge because of it's long-lasting wear, fantastic texture, and gorgeous (it'll make your friends jealous) packaging.
