When you’re constantly on-the-go, it’s hard to pack all of your essentials into one small bag. Fortunately, most makeup can serve double or triple duty on your face, so there’s no need to tote around extras. See how to make the most out of a few makeup essentials—we certainly have.
MASCARA AS LINER
Need a cat’s eye in a pinch? Grab an angled liner brush and scrape some mascara from the stick of the wand. With a quick flick, it’ll look like you used liquid liner.

LIPSTICK AS BLUSH
Want to bring life to your complexion? It’s a timeless trick—harmonize your makeup by using lipstick as blush. But don’t swipe it in circles like a clown. Instead, use your ring finger to lightly tap on pigment to the apples of your cheeks.
Beautylish recommends: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick
BRONZER AS SHADOW
Want sun-kissed lids to match your faux glow? Instead of carrying messy shadow around, blend bronzer into the crease of your eye lid for tan-talizing peepers.
Beautylish recommends: TheBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer
HAIR SPRAY AS BROW SEALER
Ever wake up with Groucho Marx-like brows? After you’ve filled them in, tame your brow shape with hair spray. Spritz your fingers, then smooth out your brows until every stray hair is in place. Pack a mini-bottle in your purse to keep frizz, fly-aways, and unruly arches at bay all day.
Beautylish recommends: Finesse Clean + Simple Hypoallergenic Hair Spray
FOUNDATION AS CONCEALER
Have a Mount Everest-sized zit? Foundation bottles have a secret hidden in their caps—concealer! Liquid foundations naturally thicken near the cap, so grab the concentrated base and cover up.
Beautylish recommends: Koh Gen Doh Aqua Foundation
CLEAR BALM AS HIGHLIGHTER
Dealing with a dull winter complexion? Quench your skin’s thirst with a clear balm that acts as a hydrator and highlighter. Slather on a thick layer on your pout, the blend the balm over your cheekbones for a subtle, moisturizing sheen.
Beautylish recommends: Nivea A Kiss of Moisture Essential Lip Care

awesome!!! finnally someone finnally says that cosmetics are as universal as you use them! i always use funky colored shadows as super thick modern pinup liner with a sprits of water or face setting spray on my angle brush and tada beautiful!!! i also use white eyeliner for my facial highlights and as a base for shadow to brighten up ones that arent very pigmented. i also like to use shimmery pink and white shadows to highlight my lips and a peach blush over nude lip liner on my lips as well, i love the look of matching cheeks and lips!!! using lipstick as blush also gives this beautiful cohesive look. i also like using bronzer not just for shadow but for my crease so all the shadows on my face match. for days i dont feel like going through my concealer rutein and clogging my pores i like to use my matte foundation on blemishes instead of a whole face of makeup. i always do the hairspray thing for my brows when i go out and about, because i cant find my clear mascara hahaha!

I've tried all those and the only one that was a massive "never do again" was using hairspray as a brow sealer. It actually made me break-out and it was quite painful. Other than that the rest of the suggestions are great in a pinch.

Any ashy-toned eye shadow suitable for your eyebrows makes a great contour shade for the rest of the face, too.
