Resort Makeup Essentials

Published Jan 13, 2012

Whether you're off to the Alps or traveling to the tropics, resort beauty season is in full swing! It's a time when Beauties either embrace the winter chill or jet set off to paradise. And whether you're on the slopes or the sand, you've still got to tote the right beauty essentials. See which beauty must-haves our snow and ski bunnies should pack for a winter getaway!

FOR GLOWING SKIN...

We refuse to let winter wash us out! SPF is a year-round essential, so get your gorgeous faux glow with a hint of tint. Skiers, pair your bronzer with a rosy blush for a flushed effect. Swimmers, keep things glowing and gorgeous with a golden tan shade.

FOR SUPPLE LIPS...

Kissable, low-maintenance lips are a must for any vacation. To fight a chapped and chilled pout, snow Beauties should slather on an extra-emollient berry tint. But beach-bound Beauties? Brighten up with a vivid coral shade!

FOR GLOSSY LOCKS...

Keep your hair hydrated no matter what climate you travel to! Beauties vacationing in a winter wonderland can suffer from static electricity and frizzy locks. The sea and sand can also dry out salty, sun-kissed strands.

I love fresh products! The tinted balms are amazing :)

Me too! The lip balm works so well for my dry lips and adds such a pretty color!

That macadamia deep masque is a godsend!

You what is a useful thing in case you don't have any hair oils, olive oil! I put it in my hair after a shower and it keeps my hair silky smooth!

Does the olive oil give off a smell?

Not that I notice, but the time I style it smells like my other hair products :)

Oh my goodness! AMAZING ARTICLE! So incredibly useful.

I love the too faced snow bunny bronzer :)

this is awesome! i leave for domincan in 20 days, so this tips are great!

how can you tell whether you have "sun-kissed strands" or your hair is just light-colored for your race/ethnicity? my hair is always lighter than normal Asian people, sometimes i even notice copper strands in it. is this normal? because i have pictures of myself from when i was little and it looked jet black like most Asian people. what does "sun-kissed" hair even mean?

Great question, Peppy G! Sun-kissed means highlighted hair, which could be natural (lightened by the sun) or chemical (lightened with bleach or peroxide). If you had jet black hair as a child and now have lighter, copper strands (but haven't been coloring your hair), you have natural sun-kissed highlights. Hope this helps :)

thank you! that makes a lot of sense. i always get weird comments when i get my hair done at the salon. it's nice to know nothing's wrong with me! :)
