We listed our favorite non-toxic Halloween makeup must-haves, but if you're really looking for a sparkling impact it's time to turn to the kitchen. Whether you're bedazzling your brows with adhesive or accessorizing your fairy costume with the perfect sparkling manicure, it's surprisingly easy to DIY glitter on your own using sugar, spice, and everything nice.
DIY NON-TOXIC GLITTER RECIPE
Ingredients
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon liquid food coloring
Directions
Preheat the oven at 350°F on bake. Mix together the sugar and food coloring. When the oven is ready, spread the colored sugar evenly on a sheet and bake for 10 minutes. When ready, allow the glitter to cool and store in a sealed bag or container. Top over wet base coat for an insta-sugar manicure!

Editor's note: Use granulated white sugar or any of the crystalline sugars—brown sugar holds too much water. Only use liquid food coloring as well—paste will not mix and likely discolor the process.

Extremely messy & doesn't seem to stay on well. I had to throw away my China Glaze top coat! Just stick to glittery nail polish.

Tried it and while its neat to look at, it's beyond messy. And getting a top coat on it was a pain my nice bottle of topcoat had to be thrown away bc I ended up w sugar in it and it bleeds if a tiny bit of water gets on it.....stick w reg nail glitter
