Scott Barnes’ Top Trends For Spring

Celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes works with some of the most beautiful women in the world on a daily basis. Glamour queens such as Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and Gwyneth Paltrow flock to him for the latest and greatest in makeup trends. So what’s the makeup guru’s forecast for spring? We spoke with Scott to discover which trend you (and the stars!) need to try when the warmer weather hits.

Glowing Skin

It’s time to show some skin! “A glowing, golden complexion is a must-have,” says Scott. “And not just for your face! Women are just as focused on having a glowing body.” Apply a gradual tanner or shimmering body lotion onto arms, legs, décolletage, back—wherever you want to show a little skin.

'60s Eye

From the film My Week With Marilyn to Lanvin’s fall/winter fashion show, everyone is loving a dramatic ‘60s-inspired cat eye. “To achieve the look, create a wing with a liquid liner, then use individual or strip lashes and place them towards the outside of the eye,” explains Scott.

Bright Lips

If there is one trend to try this season, make it a bold lip. “I love bright stains that make you look like you’ve been eating popsicles!” exclaims Scott. Look for sheer, cream textures if a thick lipstick is too intense for your usual style.
