Beauty Product Reviews
It's true that these left my skin feeling a little oily, but I didn't see any negative results from that. No breakouts or extra blackheads. They did an average to better than average job of removing MOST of my makeup, but I still had to cleanse for stubborn eyeshadows and liners. I've never used a makeup remover so I can't judge these against others - but I like them.
Drying...but it may be worth it
These are some of my favorite in the creamy-lip-product department. BUT it's important to note that they're extremely drying and not forgiving at all on cracked lips. I love the pigmentation, but rarely wear these without a balm underneath or a gloss on top (thereby eliminating the point of them being matte.) You have to have baby smooth lips for these beauties or deal with losing the pigmentation.
I can't lie - I thought these lipsticks were all hyped up. My first attempt was the Viva Glam Gaga 2, which was a disaster. It wasn't pigmented enough, didn't last and felt awful. Since then i've made a few other attempts and found that the matte formulas work best for my lips. I think there should be separate categories for the different finishes. With that said, these tend to be fairly well pigmented and come in a delicious range of colors.
Marry Me!
I feel naughty naughty posting this mini review before I write up about these on my blog, but I can't help it! They were my third or fourth foray into the worlds of cream blushes and they are still my favorite. They're SO pigmented, last forever and look very natural when applied correctly.
If I Was Stuck On A Desert Island
if I was stuck on a desert island and could only bring one pore strip....
It'd PROBABLY be this one. I recently did a test run of a couple of these for my blog and this was the best of the drugstore brands. Mysteriously - it was outshined by a Dollar Store version I picked up on a whim. I should note that the dollar store version smelled much worse though, and left my skin a little drier than I'd like. Whomever invented these should get a medal! Or at least a facial.
All About the Individual Skin Type
I have these in a couple of different colors - but only milk and black bean get any real use. I've heard they're a great eyeshadow base for drier lids, but they simply don't last on my oily lids. I use milk as a water line enhancer and occasional highlight, while I use black bean as a base for my darker dramatic looks. I can't use black bean as an eyeliner because it smudges like crazy! It's all about your individual skin type I suppose.
Cute and Quirky
The packaging is, of course, the reason I purchased this product. My little sister calls it my "Egg Balm." I like the oils instead of waxes as the main moisturizers - but it's that same thing that makes it so this balm doesn't last very long. I have to reapply constantly - not that I really mind.
I have the red/fruit punch? one. I've been wanting to try the lemon but it keeps selling out!
They Feel Great!
I think the pictures of the tubes were meant to match the swatches and not the tubes themselves. I had the wonkiest time finding the colors I wanted. I own barely bitten and rosy raisin and I love them both. The color lasts long enough if you don't touch or lick your lips too often. The FEEL of them is great.
