Saoirse R.'s (Saoirse) Beauty Product Reviews
I have used this for months now and at first I really liked it but now I try to avoid it if I can.
I like how it minimizes my pores and fine lines but when I apply my foundation it makes it incredibly hard to blend out. It's like the foundation sticks to it and doesn't move.
I only use this around my nose and mouth so the foundation sticks to it in those areas but blends out anywhere I haven't used this primer.
I have tried to make this work but it just ruins foundation. It's a pity as it used to be really nice. I have no idea what went wrong :(
Great product!
I love this palette, I normally never wear neutral colours on my eyes but I decided to get this and see how I liked it.
I personally prefer shimmery colours over matte and this palette only has a few matte colours.
All colours are very pigmented especially some of the darker colours, I find I often put far too much on the brush, whoops!
With the colours included you can go for a very casual neutral look or mix it up for a more dramatic look. It's very versatile.
The only problem I have is with some of the lighter colours. I have pretty pale skin and some of the palest colours don't show up on my skin and then some of the neutral colours are too dark for my complexion and don't look natural, they just look very orangy-brown. I've seen many people use these shades on Youtube and they show up much better on their slightly darker skin. It's just unfortunate that I'm so pale some of the shades don't work with my skin. Oh well! Still love this palette though.
Sadly it's way too dark.
I bought this in the lightest shade and it was miles too orange for my skin, I can normally work with a slightly darker concealer but this was much too dark for the lightest shade.
It does give good coverage and is quite thick and heavy. I actually liked the coverage it gave, but it was just too dark. If it were in my shade I think it would be really good!
My Go To Mascara!
I have no faults for this surprisingly!
I've bought this a few times and I just love the effect it has on my lashes.
I have quite short, blonde lashes so this makes them very thick and dramatic.
It's nice and black which I love, and the formula doesn't irritate my eyes like some others do!
You can layer this on so you can have less dramatic lashes which are longer or build it up from the roots to make it very striking! :)
Lame :(
Had this a few years ago in NC15.
I LOVE how it looks when I swatch it on my hand, it's glittery and so pretty!
The problem begins when I use it on my face :(
Like most MAC foundations even the lightest shade is too dark on my skin, so that's a negative.
It doesn't blend nicely, it just would NOT work with my skin.
Finally it made my skin feel tingly and I just kept wanting to wash it off. I gave it to my mom and she had the same problems.
I was so disappointed because I love how glittery it looked on my skin.
Average..
I don't know what the hype about this is.
Originally bought it to set my foundation but quickly realised that's not what it's meant to be used for. It just ruins your foundation if you try spray it on afterwards.
I used to use this before my foundation to make my skin nice and fresh but it really doesn't make much difference to my skin.
I can see that it feels lovely on bare skin, it soothes the skin for a tiny while but you could probably make your own refreshing spray and have the same effect.
I live in Ireland so we really don't have warm weather, in fact it rains more than anything so I can just step outside and have refreshed skin... :P
If you lived in a warm, drying climate this would be nice, but for the price you wouldn't want to use it often.
Love!
I have loads of these in various colours.
I use the colourful ones as eyeshadow bases or just as simple eyeliner when I don't want to use eyeshadow.
They stay on my lids (non-oily lids) very well, I haven't noticed much creasing, and the same goes for my lower waterline.
They're all very smooth to apply which is especially good because your eyes are less likely to water if they're sensitive like mine. You don't need to use much pressure to apply.
I have Zero which many people seem to have and it's great for the lower waterline yet I still set it with my Smashbox Waterproof Gel Eyeliner as I prefer my eyeliner to be dark and last long.
This does last long alone and sets pretty quickly, but after a few hours on your waterline it will begin to disappear.
I used to use this in my upper waterline but I find it dries quickly and causes your eyelashes to stick together which makes applying mascara more annoying as you get thin spider lashes. But that doesn't bother me at all, I just use something else.
Mixed feelings..
I have a lot of the shades.
I really love the packaging and the colours. They're very pretty. Many of the ones I have have a small amount of shimmer which I love.
For some of the colours though, they're not very pigmented which is great because you don't over do it and can build them up gradually.
For others like Fuschia Fusion it's so pigmented that no matter what I do my face ends up incredibly pink. The colour is lovely in the package but not when it's piled onto your face.
Another small problem I had was that they can be a bit chalky and sometimes hard to blend out evenly. I don't find it a huge problem though as I just have to take care when applying.
I'm not a huge blush fan so these are cheap and the colours are great! Would definitely buy them all!
Great value for money!
I bought this about 2 years ago when I had very bad cystic acne.
It was great for my skin because I could use it and it didn't dry out my skin like many other scrubs had. I really only used it once every month or so as I had very sore acne!
Now, 2 years later my acne is gone and I still haven't used this all up. It works even better now that my skin is clear and I use this once a week. It really makes your skin feel very silky. It's the only one I've tried that works for my skin when it's going through different phases.
The scrub is quite rough so you don't want to over-use it, so less is more and it definitely last ages.
Meh..
This was one of the first foundations I bought years ago.
Pros: It lasts long & can cover quite well.
Cons: Annoying to blend if you're just beginning.
Doesn't have a shade for very pale people.
Dries to be very cakey (and very dry) which shows fine lines and sits on blemishes.
Takes a bit longer to remove.
I also thought it gave me very very bad cystic acne, and didn't even realise this was the cause for ages.
The container has no pump so too much comes out which can be annoying.
