FAQ

Did your dimple piercings hurt? - Not when I got them. They did the next day & for week after that. It was awful.

What's your accent? - Never thought I had one. My family is from Texas & Oregon so I guess I have a weird one.

How did you know you wanted to be in the beauty industry? - I think I've always known. I'm a very visual person. My interest in fashion, art & the physical appearance of people around me in general was always there. It was in 5th grade when it was really official. I lost my mother when I was 11. She was beautiful, inside & out. She took such good care of my hair & skin. She taught me that we represent each other & we should look good doing so. When she passed, I moved in with my grandmother. She literally saved my life. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me but, she couldn't exactly handle my hair. She gave me some pretty questionable hairstyles. Lol. So that on top of a few traumatizing visits to the beauty salon, is what gave me that extra push to learn how to love & care for my hair on my own. That eventually lead to some very supportive friends & family members allowing me to practice & better my skills on their many different hair types. It wasn't until high school that I really got deep into hair & makeup. I enjoyed geometry, but it was cutting & styling hair that made me like it & pay attention in that class. Then I started putting makeup on whoever would let me. Shapes, algebra, color theory, geometry, all of that started to make sense to me. I hated (sometimes still do) wearing makeup but, there was something about skin & the way you could change it that intrigued me. I know it sounds creepy but, I became obsessed with different skin tones & hair types. The way you can manipulate & create shapes with hair, it's all still so amazing to me. Once I discovered all this, you couldn't tell me nothin'! Lol.
