Jess R.'s (BeautyByRivera) Beauty Product Reviews
First off, this bronzer has shimmer, so if you want that, great. If not, then stay away. This may lure you in because the size of these are HUGE! But the pigmentation is barely visible. I can keep applying and applying and it really doesn't make a difference. The first layer is a bunch of gold shimmer, and that really shows up but once you get past it is when you have to work at getting color.
I had nyx Bronzers in my kit and I wasn't impressed because while huge, they didn't have much pigmentation, so I knew one day I would buy a new bronzer. I had a sephora gift card and decided on smashbox's bronzer because it was a good amount of product and it is matte. After I bought it, I heard it is the Kardashians favorite bronzer, and it got some bad reviews on makeup alley. But I have to say that I absolutely love this bronzer! I tap my brush lightly on it and I get so much color pay off. It extremely easy to blend and gives the most amazing warmth on the face. It's just a beautiful bronzer.
I heard so many great things on YouTube so I bought peach parfait because the ad with Emma had her wearing that color although when I put it on the color looked completely different. But! The color looked as it did on the actual lipstick so photoshop probably had something to do with the ad. I love that it is the first lipstick I can wear as a lip balm if I loose my Chapstick bc it really is moisturizing! The plus is that is gives color pay off too!
So after seeing Lisa Eldridge use this lip liner in the natural color a million times, I finally got it. I feel like I have now found the perfect pink/nude lip liner. Most nude/natural liners and more on the brown side, but this one is more pink. I know use it all the time on clients. It's also nice a creamy and I love the fact that I don't have to sharpen it. I want all the colors now.
It looks amazing, you have every color you could think of, which is why I bought this when building my kit instead buying a bunch of individual lipsticks. Well first off, some of the colors swatch a different color than what it looks like. And the second & last reason as to why I will not recommend this is because a lot of them swip blotchy. How is this possible if the product is on my brush & I'm gliding it on the lips? Don't know but it does it. There will be patches of color with patches of no color. It's not a smooth application at all. I wrote nyx in shock because I love their lipsticks but they said they are completely different than their regular tube lipsticks, which to me means it's just a cheap quality palette to sell. I have had it for over a year & only use it when I don't have a certain color.
I love the small tapered brush for contouring, it's the best brush to contour with! The foundation brush I actually use for concealer when I conceal throughout the face for highlight since I use 3 different foundation colors when applying makeup. The smallest brush I use as a lip brush, and buffing brush is amazing for powder foundation and blending. I go for these brushes first now.
there are so many other great loose powders out there, but this one is not so great. When I first swatched it on the back of my hand, I fell in love because it became creamy and filled in the fine lines. But it was a different story on my face. It made me look white when I wouldn't even use that much. No matter how much I tried applying it differently, always thought it gave. White glow. It does not photograph well but that is understandable since it's made for Hd film. And since I dont get filmed or work on films, this product has no use for me.
When I use my urban decay de slick in a tube and then this powder over my foundation, it is the best combination in the world! This powder helps prolong the longevity of keeping my oils at bay. It is a nice creamy loose powder that doesn't look cakey on the skin and there are different shades for different skin tones.
like is not enough, I LOVE this product. When I bought it for my personal use, it became my holy grail concealer. It is AMAZING. It's not to thick and not too thin, it's the perfect cream concealer for great coverage. It does not cake up or become dry under the eyes. It also doesn't settle in my fine lines as much as other concealers. I finally bought all the colors for my kit and it is the best thing I did. I even had another MUA tell me they looked amazing as I was putting it on someone. They are expensive but I just can't go back to any other concealer, and I am not a fan of the packaging but IRS the not he worst either.
